Your frequently asked questions, answered.
Here you’ll find answers to some frequently asked questions. If there’s something else you’d like to know, don’t hesitate get in touch.
Will you convert any van?
At Nordic & Wild we specialise in converting vans based on a standard chassis size and shape. We can convert a Fiat Ducato, Citroen Relay or Peugeot Boxer into a bespoke campervan on a medium wheelbase, LWB and XLWB chassis.
Who buys the base vehicle?
Whether you purchase a van before commissioning a conversion or we support you in finding the right van, the van will always be bought and owned by you.
What is the difference between ‘Conversion’ and ‘Custom’?
A conversion is either an Aventyr or Vildmark design, with client preferences for number of beds, fabrics, finishes and optional extras. A custom conversion is designed from scratch, based on client requirements. This could include a U-shaped dining area, bunk beds or perhaps an L-shaped kitchen.
How long does a campervan conversion take?
Production times are approximately 8 weeks for an Aventyr and 10 weeks for a Vildmark. When you initially get in touch, we will advise if there’s currently a waiting list for production slots and confirm when we would be able to undertake your conversion. If you have specific travel plans that you’re hoping to embark on, let us know and we’ll do our best to provide a production slot that works for your timeline.
Do I need to pay a deposit for the conversion?
To reserve a production slot there is a £1,000 deposit required. Before work on your campervan can get underway a deposit of 50% (including VAT) will need to be paid 30 days ahead of work starting.
Do you work with clients remotely?
Yes, absolutely. We’re more than happy to work with you wherever you’re based. We will ensure that you feel very much in the loop with video calls, weekly updates, photos and progress videos. We will also produce a 3D floorplan so that you have a clear visual of the agreed design.
Can you install different sinks and hobs?
Yes, we can fit various options and combinations for sinks and hobs, including combined space-saver units. If this is something that you’re interested in, we’re more than happy to discuss options with you.
Can I visit the workshop?
Currently we’re not offering any workshop visits due to operating safe working practices under Covid-19 guidelines. We’re more than happy to schedule a video call, and hopefully we can answer all your questions this way.
We hope to see you for coffee, cake and campervans in the near future. When we can safely open up for visits, we will let you know.
Do you fit an alarm system?
We don’t fit an alarm system but we would advise that you do have an aftermarket system installed to protect your campervan. It will likely help with your insurance, as well as your peace of mind.
